Phil Alibrandi Coach Philabrindi had a very productive four year career at Regis College. As a senior, Coach Alibrandi started in all 27 games for Regis. He scored 275 points, totaling 1006 total in his career. He had a field goal average of 42.2, averaging 10.2 points per game. He also tallied 55 assists. A huge part of the Pride defense, Coach Alibrandi recorded a team-high 156 rebounds, as well as 25 steals. Phil in high school was a member of the McDonalds All-Maine team. He was also honored as his team MVP, and was recognized as All-Western Maine 1st team. Coach Alibrandi’s hobbies include playing and watching basketball. His life goal is to become a teacher while coaching basketball.

Mitch Coughlin
Coach Mitch Coughlin brings 20 years of coaching experience into Mass Elite. He played varsity basketball at Bishop Fenwick High School where he was Captain and MVP. He coached at the Salem State Summer Camps and was a certified IAABO Board 130 Basketball Official. Mitch also served as a scout for Salem High School preparing reports and statistics for the basketball program in the early 90’s. During the last 7 years Mitch has coached at the Beverly Kiwanis League where his teams have won several championships and has been coaching the 14U Beverly Middle School Travel Team during the summer months. Mitch’s extensive basketball knowledge and drive to teach fundamentals enables his teams to compete and win. Mitch holds a bachelors’ degree from Salem State University in Business Administration.

Gary Leavitt Gary Leavitt has coaching experience at Merrimack College, Bishop Fenwick High School, Marblehead High School, Lynn Classical and Lynn English. Gary also has deep ties in the Peabody Youth Basketball community where he helped build the programs elementary school league. Gary has also worked on several projects with the Boston Celtics organization on both youth and charity events.
Mark Melanson Coach Melanson currently serves as both the 7th grade and 8th grade travel basketball coach for Burlington. Coach Melanson has worked/coached within the Burlington town travel program for 12+ years. Previously Coach Melanson has served as an Assistant Varsity and Junior Varsity Coach for both Burlington and Lincoln/Sudbury.

Sal Monteneri Coach Monteneri currently serves as the Travel Basketball Director for the Town of Tewksbury where he also coaches the 6th grade boys travel team. Coach Montenerti has 10+ years of coaching experience at the middle school where he has coached teams from 5th-8th grade for the boys town travel program of Tewksbury. Coach Monteneri also plays an active role in Pop-Warner football for the town of Tewksbury where he serves on the board of directors and also is a head coach.

Eric Perkins Coach Perkins been playing basketball all of his life and have been coaching locally the past 5 years throughout the North Shore. Most recently he has coached at the Beverly YMCA for their Kiwanis League which is grades 5-7 and their Baseline League which consists of grades 8-12. Coach Perkins was a Business Major at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA which is where he played college basketball.
Tim Pernini Coach Pernini grew up in Rhode Island where he was a varsity athlete in both basketball and baseball at Woonsocket High School. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physics from Rhode Island College where he played four years of collegiate baseball. Over the last 10 years Coach Pernini has particpated in and coached numerous adult men’s basketball teams in recreational leagues on the North Shore. He has served as the head freshman basketball coach for the Eagles of El Segundo, CA. He has tremendous passion for the game of basketball and is highly dedicated to his players. Coach Pernini resides in Beverly, MA, and is employed as an aerospace engineer in Lexington, MA.
