Coach John Preziosa, the former college coach at Wheelock College, Salem State and Bunker Hill CC is the newest addition to the Mass Elite basketball family!
Coach Prez will be the Head Coach of our top level 5th grade team beginning this Spring season, additionally he will also advise the club administrators in all basketball-operations related matters. Coach Prez will also be offering his annual summer basketball camp through the Mass Elite Basketball family beginning this Summer, allowing for the collaboration of one of New England’s finest coaches with hundreds of players in involved in our programs.
Coach Prez has previously served (2006-2011) as the only head coach in the history of Wheelock men’s basketball, where his teams have qualified for the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament each of the past three winters, advancing as far as the semifinal round twice. Prior to coming to Wheelock, Prez spent two years as an assistant coach and associate head coach at Salem State University, where he helped lead the team to a 42-11 record and an appearance in the 2007 NCAA Tournament. He also coached the Northeast boys’ team to a bronze medal in the 2006 Bay State Summer Games and a silver medal in 2007 and also served as the Head Coach at Bunker Hill Community College from 2000-2004. Coach Prez played basketball collegiately at Bunker Hill from 1990 to 1992, earning the team’s most improved player award in 1992. He resides in Melrose with his wife, Gina, and sons, Marino and Gino.
