Thus far we have received record numbers at our Spring middle school tryout sessions. We are very excited to welcome back all return players from previous AAU sessions and are also pleased that so many new players will be joining our Spring AAU program. Players selected for team placement represent a wide variety of towns, these including – Wakefield, Reading, Melrose, Woburn, Danvers, Beverly, Peabody, Topsfield, Middleton, Boxford, Manchester, Hamilton, Essex, Lynnfield, Lynn, Billerica, Westford, Tewksbury, Dracut, Lowell, Acton, Gardner, Leominster, Belmont, Lexington, Winchester, Newburyport, Amesbury, Georgetown, Rowley, Byfield, Everett, Revere and many other local cities and towns throughtout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. It is without question that no other basketball family is as diverse, unique and committed as the ELITE Basketball Community!

High School AAU tryout sessions for the Spring season will begin this month at locations in both Reading and Danvers. At the High School level our program will be offering teams at all levels, these including National, Regional and Local teams. Coach Brian Tobin who oversees our grade 9-11 program will also be hosting an “Invitational-Only” tryout session for players being considered for our highest National-Select teams. Those that wish to be considered for placement on a National-Invitational team must email Coach Tobin. A full listing of all upcoming tryout sessions are now posted on our programs website. Participants are highly encouraged to pre-register, although we will be accepting walk-ins for all sessions.

Earlier this month ELITE Basketball announced that we will be operating many of our player development training programs at the brand-new Danvers Indoor Sports Complex located directly off of route 114! Programming at the new facility begins this month, including AAU tryout sessions, private/group workouts and a Feb Vacation Day-Camp run by Coach Preziosa from Salem State University. For more detailed information on programs being operated out of the DISC (Danvers Indoor Sports Complex) then please visit our training program website.

Recently we announced a series of staff promotions and additions to our programs Advisory Board. For starters, Coach Dave Latimer (previously Middle School AAU Director) has been promoted to Associate Director of Basketball Operations, a new role that will allow for Coach Latimer to help oversee the day to day operations of our AAU programs. Coach Ron Sanders who was hired as a coach last summer has been elevated to Elementary and Middle School AAU Director, a role that will allow for Coach Sanders to oversee “on-court” operations for teams at the 3rd-8th grade age groups. Coach Sanders will also be the Program Director of our newest training program called Elite Futures Basketball, a new in-house training league for players in grades K-4. In regards to our programs advisory board, we have welcomed Gary Leavitt (Woburn), Gus Dettorre (Wakefield), Sal Monteneri (Tewksbury), Pat Kelley (Billerica) and Rich Nagle (Byfield). We were very excited to welcome all new advisory board members. If interested in contributing to our programs Advisory Board in any way then please contact Gary Leavitt.
